Y Work Ready

Y Work Ready is our work readiness support service in Ashburton and Christchurch, that offers job seekers who are not ready to transition directly into work, one on one support, guidance, motivation and belief that they are capable of work.
As they prepare to enter/re-enter the work force and turn their mind to that, they will be empowered to focus on themselves, their soft and hard skillsets and “unpack” what holds them back currently from moving off-benefit and into permanent and sustainable employment.
Phase 1: Engagement
Initial face to face engagement, relationship building and understanding of the challenge ahead! This phase is to ensure the smooth transition to the Y-Work Ready Work Readiness Support Service.
Phase 2: Intensive Preparation/Readiness
This phase focuses first and foremost on soft skills, self-esteem and confidence, breaking down barriers to employment, personal barriers standing in the way of success and ensures the job seeker has all the tools and skills for effective job search and a permanent and sustainable employment placement.
Phase 3: The World of Work
This phase allows the job seeker to focus on a range of employability training including core skills, job search advice and activities to raise awareness and understanding of the job market.
Phase 4: Employment Planning & Placement Support
This phase represents a positive journey of the previous activities/phases, acknowledges the job seeker is now “ready for work” and has a kete of job searching and preparedness to now focus everyone from hereon in pursuing permanent sustainable employment (“providing they are ready”).

Length of Programme
This programme will run for up to 12 weeks with the end goal being clients gaining employment and being financially independent of MSD financial support.
